Referral Programme Terms

These terms govern the Decal Empire Referral Programme (the "Programme"). They apply in addition to our main Terms & Conditions, which take precedence where the two conflict. By applying to join the Programme or participating in it, you agree to these terms.
1. Definitions
- "Referrer" means an approved member of the Programme.
- "Friend" means a person who places an order with us via a Referrer's referral link.
- "Referred Order" means the Friend's first paid order placed via a valid referral, as described in clause 4.
- "Current Rates" means the discount, commission rates, tiers, caps, minimums, and fees set out in clause 10, as updated from time to time.
2. Joining the Programme
2.1. Membership is open to existing Decal Empire customers only. You must have placed at least one paid order with us to apply.
2.2. Membership requires an application and our approval. We may accept or decline any application at our discretion. Declined applicants may reapply after 30 days.
2.3. We may suspend or remove any Referrer from the Programme, and withhold unpaid commission, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, including in cases of fraud or self-referral (see clause 8).
3. Referral Tracking
3.1. Referrals are tracked using a referral cookie placed when someone clicks your referral link. The cookie lasts 30 days and operates on a last-click basis: if the Friend clicks more than one referral link, the most recent click before ordering determines the Referrer.
3.2. If the cookie is blocked, cleared, or expired at the time of ordering, or the Friend orders through a different browser or device, the referral may not track. We cannot credit referrals that our system did not record.
4. Qualifying Referrals
4.1. A referral qualifies only on the Friend's first paid order with Decal Empire. Orders from customers who have previously purchased from us do not qualify.
4.2. The following are excluded from the Programme: trade and B2B accounts, and group orders.
4.3. Referrals must be genuine recommendations to real, distinct people. Self-referral in any form, including referring yourself through a second account, is prohibited and is actively monitored (see clause 8).
5. Friend Discount
5.1. The Friend receives a percentage discount (see Current Rates) on their first order, provided the order meets the minimum spend in the Current Rates.
5.2. The Friend discount cannot be combined with promotional codes or any other discount. Where more than one discount could apply to an order, only the single best discount is applied.
5.3. A qualifying Referred Order still earns Referrer commission even where the Friend's discount did not apply to it (for example, because a better discount was used instead or the minimum spend for the discount was not met).
6. Referrer Commission
6.1. Commission is calculated on the Referred Order's value excluding VAT and delivery.
6.2. The commission rate is tiered and depends on your Referrer tier, within the range set out in the Current Rates, and is subject to the per-referral cap in the Current Rates.
6.3. Commission is confirmed only when the Referred Order is dispatched, and is then held for 14 days before becoming payable.
7. Refunds, Chargebacks, and Clawback
7.1. If a Referred Order is refunded in full, reversed by chargeback, or found to be fraudulent, the related commission is cancelled.
7.2. If a Referred Order is partially refunded, the related commission is reduced proportionally.
7.3. Where commission affected by clause 7.1 or 7.2 has already been paid out, we will deduct the relevant amount from your future earnings.
8. Fraud and Fair Use
8.1. We actively monitor the Programme for abuse, including self-referral through secondary accounts, referral of fictitious persons, misuse of the discount, and coordinated or incentivised schemes designed to generate commission rather than genuine custom.
8.2. Where we reasonably determine that activity is fraudulent or in breach of these terms, we may cancel the related commissions, withhold pending payouts, suspend or remove the Referrer from the Programme, and, in the case of associated orders, exercise our rights under the main Terms & Conditions.
9. Payouts
9.1. Payouts are made monthly, on or around the 1st of each month, following our review and approval of the payout run.
9.2. Payouts are made via Stripe Connect. You must set up and maintain a Stripe Connect account to receive payouts; we cannot pay commission by other means.
9.3. The minimum payout is set out in the Current Rates. Balances below the minimum roll over to the following month.
9.4. A transfer fee (see Current Rates) is deducted from each payout.
9.5. You are responsible for your own tax affairs, including declaring Programme earnings to HMRC where required. We do not deduct tax from payouts and nothing in the Programme creates an employment, agency, or partnership relationship between you and Decal Empire LTD.
10. Current Rates
The following values apply as at the date above and may be changed under clause 11:
- Friend discount: 10% off the Friend's first order
- Friend discount minimum spend: £30
- Referrer commission: 5% to 10% of the Referred Order value excluding VAT and delivery, depending on Referrer tier
- Commission cap: £20 per referral
- Minimum payout: £10
- Payout transfer fee: 0.25% + £0.10 per payout
11. Changes to the Programme
11.1. We may change the Current Rates, tiers, eligibility rules, or any other aspect of the Programme, or close the Programme, at any time.
11.2. Changes apply prospectively only. They do not affect commission already earned on Referred Orders dispatched before the change took effect, which remains subject to clauses 6, 7, and 9 as they stood when it was earned.
12. General
12.1. Referral links and Programme membership are personal to you and may not be sold or transferred.
12.2. When sharing your referral link, you must not misrepresent your relationship with Decal Empire, present yourself as our employee or agent, use paid advertising that bids on our brand terms, or send unsolicited bulk messages.
12.3. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, in accordance with the Governing Law clause of our main Terms & Conditions.
